New Mothers

My heart goes out to all of you!  You are awesome!

We watched The Office tonight.  Wow.  I knew Jim and Pam were going to have a baby.  The first half didn't much relate to me since my babies were not willing to put me in to labor.  (Except for Calvin.)  But after that baby arrived...Boy, I had a few flashbacks.

I am afraid to fall asleep tonight.  I do not want to hear a crying newborn.  You know that sound, so distinct to a tiny baby.  When I heard it on the show, my stomach got all twisted up.

And the new, first-child breast feeding.  That is definitely a whole different nightmare!  I never want to do it again.  Ever.  {And I don't just mean the breastfeeding, I mean all of it!}  I seriously can't believe it happened four times!  It seems so long ago.
By the end of the show I was holding my breasts for fear some tiny creature was about to take hold.  OUCH!!!  It hurts.

I know a number of people who are expecting right now.  I wish you all luck.  And happiness with your new babies.  [and no pain, and a sleeping baby, and a husband who helps, etc.]  I realize each birth is a different experience- and I hope this one is fabulous for each of you!  Just check the name tag on your baby before sticking your nipple into it's mouth!
