Summer is Great!!

I am SO glad for summer!
Except; it's going SO fast and I'm afraid it will be over before I know it.  So sad to think about.
This week, we wanted to go camping.  But, the girls were banned from said activity a few years ago....due to whining and lack of enjoyment.  Still, we thought it was time to make the attempt.  I think it's been 3 years.  We got loaded, which is quite the task.  Camping takes tons of packing!
We had much difficulty and discussion about where we should go.
We decided to stay close.....and I'm glad we did.  We didn't end up staying the night.  We did it all though.  Canoeing, swimming, picnicking, hiking to a geocache, cooking over a fire, and marshmallows.
But, then we came home at 9pm.  The entire day was a struggle with Julie.  I won't go into detail.
A couple of days later, the boys had their own little camping trip.  It was only slightly more successful.  We girls did some shopping.  More than  the bank could handle.

We also had 2 girls get stung by wasps this week.  Good times.  The screaming escalated as the poison spread.  Don't you wish you were our neighbor?!?

Nolan did a yard sale.  He's been getting ready for it for about 3 weeks and I couldn't put him off any longer.  I donated a few items.  There is a park here in town where people set up their yard sales.  Since we hadn't advertised, I figured we should go there.  {We live on the outskirts of town.}  We got there and nobody else was set up today.  I asked Nolan if he still wanted to set up, or wait until next week.  He wanted to set up.   He decided to stay for an hour and a half to see how it went.  I sat in the van reading and keeping an eye on him.  We stayed an additional hour because he was doing pretty well.  He did not have a whole lot of stuff.  Even with my contribution.  {He made me agree that he could keep the money from my stuff; or else I would have to set up my own....}  He did quite well, and had no competition.  He is halfway to the amount he wants/needs for the thing he wants right now.  We will see if he can save it.  He just wants to go to the store tomorrow.

This afternoon we did more swimming and followed that up by going to the ice cream shop at the old bank.  Yum.  And quite reasonably priced.  That's always a good thing for me!

So what's the thing Nolan wants? Or are you allowed to tell? :)
