Instead

Calvin and I were really hoping to go to Alabama for Thanksgiving. He was huffing and puffing as he left for school on Friday because I told him we weren't going to be able to go. He was angry, I was sad; but it happens.
Seeing our distress, Will decided to take us away for the weekend anyway. We went to Grand Junction and did tons of things to keep us busy. I think the kids had a good time; the pool was a definite hit!! It was a nice little get away, although, I wish we had gone south instead of north, but that can wait for the next time, I guess.
The highlight of the stay was when Amelia pulled the fire alarm for at the hotel. We were right in the main lobby by the front desk; looking for Amelia.
We had been looking at the brochures and stuff they had out. Anyway, the staff was mostly confused, but decided they had better evacuate everyone. Until, we realized it had been Amelia that set the thing off. It is a rare thing that Will gets more embarrassed over something than I do. He was this time though. I almost thought it was funny, almost. And, I still maintain that the pull should not be at the eye level of a three year old child. But, nobody asked me.

And we woke up to snow today. Blah!

Well, I can honestly say that your life never seems to have a dull moment. So, my 'instead' to you is "Instead of watching the Iron Bowl, I will probably be up feeding my baby in the middle of the night." It wasn't missing all the usual Thanksgiving stuff that made me sad today. It was the thought of not being able to watch football. I could cry.
