Zoo in the Bayou

We went on a vacation.  It was supposed to happen in May, but got bumped up since we are trying out the whole kid-baseball thing.  We decided to go down to the Audobon Zoo.  Let me remind you, this trip was not really planned on too many levels.  When we left the driveway, we did not even know which way we were leaving town.  So, the route was up in the air.  As was everything else.

Amelia left her blankie (rag) in Baton Rouge, LA.  I have been prepping her about getting rid of it (totally) for a month or so.  We had a deal that she would trade it to me for presents on her 5th birthday next month.  HA!  I didn't have to wait after all.  She was throwing a fit as we were getting ready to leave this hotel and the blankie got overlooked because it was stuck halfway under a pillow.  About 30 minutes into our drive to New Orleans, she said, "I think I left my blankie."  And I knew she had.  I could picture it there on the bed.  She kept asking to go back.  We did have the thing sent to us, but I haven't told her that we got it.

The Zoo was packed.  It must have been Field Trip Friday for everyone!!!  The kids had a pretty good time though.  We were not able to see everything.  We only spent two hours there.
